A Word About Design...
U.S. Mint Engraver, John Mercanti designed the obverse image on
the Platinum American Eagles, which adorns all four denominations
and depicts a striking image of Liberty looking towards the future.
U.S. Mint Engraver, Thomas D. Rogers crafted the reverse design for
the Platinum Eagles with a dynamically powerful image of an eagle
with wings fully extended soaring above the sunlit world. With the
exception of the respective legal tender denomination featured on
Coins not to scale each of the four denominations, the reverse design is identical.
